Gunter Van Craen (°1970) joined Bekaert on the 23rd of March 2020. He started his career in internal auditing at KBC, with a focus on the insurance industry.
In 2003, Gunter joined Johnson & Johnson where he took on several IT and Finance management functions of increasingly broader scope and responsibility. Starting his journey in the EMEA pharmaceutical business of J&J, he went on to take on multiple positions in the global treasury organization leading up to the incorporation of regional treasury centers in Sao Paolo and Singapore. After 7 years in the finance function, he returned to the global IT function, first as CIO for the integration of Crucell into Janssen Pharmaceutica, and subsequently as global VP IT Pharma R&D. His last position was SVP IT for technology services, covering all IT related services across EMEA, LatAM and Asia.
Gunter Van Craen, Belgian national, holds a Master’s degree in Commercial Engineering from the KU Leuven and a subsequent Master in Accountancy and Auditing from the same university. He also holds a Master’s degree in Computer Auditing from the University of Antwerp.
