Be willing to learn
Be willing to learn
Irem is curious by nature and enjoys discovering many different things. Besides her degree in civil engineering, she loves volleyball, painting, and participating in marathons. So when she was selected to join the Bekaert Young Graduates program she did not hesitate, even though she had ongoing interviews with other companies. It would give her the chance to work in many different departments and decide what she enjoys the most in her career.
The recruitment process was different than any other she had experienced until then. “It was hard, with many different aspects covered over a short period of time. But it allows to get good insights into a candidate’s personality and the ideas he or she can bring to the company.” Irem started at our rubber reinforcement plant in Kartepe (Turkey) in September 2022 and she is now discovering the many different facets of the business.
“When you start working at Bekaert, you must be very open and willing to learn. On the other hand, it is a company with a family culture, where people support each other. It is a great family to be part of.”
