What is the best thing about working at Bekaert?

Bekaert pays a lot of attention to the wellbeing of employees including the operators working in the plants. The shift arrangement allows us to have a healthy work-life balance.

What do you enjoy most about working with your team?

There is a great atmosphere in our team. We get on well, are helpful to each other and are focused on our performance. Moreover, as a female operator, I have always felt respected and treated equally to my male colleagues. That’s only fair, but it’s nice to feel it’s also a reality in my working environment. There is a strong team spirit and I get my drive to perform from working with equally dedicated colleagues.

What drives you to be a better employee?

My team and I have a common objective. This means everyone has an opportunity to contribute to the team’s success. This motivates me to always try my best to perform well and have a positive impact on our overall performance.

How has Bekaert helped you gain new knowledge and skills that you use to develop your career and perform better in your role?

When I first joined Bekaert, I was working in our wire drawing team. After a few years, I transferred to the cord plant. Cord has a very different manufacturing process, which was completely new to me. Luckily, I was trained by an experienced and patient co-worker who taught me everything I needed to know. Thanks to him, I was able to broaden my skill set and quickly adapt to the job.

How do you see your future at Bekaert?

“Better Together” is really at the heart of Bekaert’s culture and that’s how I see myself further evolving in the company. As part of a strong and dedicated team navigating through challenges together thanks to an insightful and supporting leadership.
