What do you like most about your job and working at Bekaert?

One of the things I like most is that I can be involved in different projects, working with colleagues from all over the world. This allows me to network, share experiences with my co-workers and grow better together with them.

Having a cross-disciplinary role allows me to be involved in different business areas. I need to understand the operational activities in the plant as much as I need to connect to the challenges at managerial level.

I don’t enjoy repetitive activities, so being in touch with many different people across different levels in Bekaert offers me a lot of variety. This is what keeps my job really interesting!

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned working at Bekaert?

I have learned how a multidisciplinary team approaches complex problems. We need to come up with solutions everyone feels comfortable with. This has been particularly inspiring for me. Working closely with different teams has greatly improved my ability to think outside the box to deal with difficult situations.  

How do you stay motivated to successfully overcome obstacles to keep progressing with your goals?

As an environmental engineer, I have always believed that we should work hard to find sustainable solutions for our world. We need to do our best to lessen our impact and leave a better planet for future generations. Bekaert’s purpose to establish the new possible, and the projects put in place motivate me to be an integral part of the company. I want to contribute as much as I can to achieve our common goal.

How has Bekaert helped you gain new knowledge and skills that you use to develop your career and perform better in your role?

I feel like I’m always learning. Not only through training courses but also by sharing experiences with colleagues in my plant and all over the world.

Bekaert’s focus on learning and development is admirable. There is a yearly scheduled training but I’m mostly impressed by the attention given by the company to people’s new needs.

Having access to opportunities such as LinkedIn Learning is also a great way to improve our transversal capabilities.

What do you like most about the team you work with?

Our team is like a small family. Everyone feels comfortable to share their experiences and opinions. I’ve always enjoyed discussing and exchanging thoughts because I believe it helps you to grow on a personal level. That’s why I’m happy to have found such a friendly environment where I feel free to express my opinion.
